The Amazing Aqua Cura is a side-quest that the player is given access to after downloading the Broken Steel DLC expansion.

[edit] Quest Objectives

[edit] Starting The Quest

The player will be able to start the quest through four different methods. The first option is to speak with Griffon in the Museum of History and ask him for a bottle of Aqua Cura. Doing this will prompt your Pip-Boy to tell you that the water is irradiated. The player will then need to speak with Griffon, who will deny the claim.

The second option is to pass a Speech check with Scribe Bigsley. He will tell you that Griffon pays him for bottles of Aqua Pura. The third option is to hack Scribe Bigsley's terminal

The fourth option is to find Griffon's holotape in the Museum Authority Building

[edit] Griffon's Bottling Operation

Griffon will refuse to tell the player where his bottling operation is. However, the player can learn the location from Scribe Bigsley. He will direct the player to the Museum Authority Building. When you first enter the building, take the left hallway. Continue walking until you reach the downward stairs. The player can find a bottle of Nuka-Cola Quantum in the bathroom of the room on the right as you enter the building.

After proceeding downstairs, turn right and enter the large room. The player will find a holotape on a table along with 2 bottles of Dirty Water and a bottle of Nuka-Cola. The holotape will reveal that Griffon's guards dump the Aqua Pura into the tubs and the sinks. He then sells this to Raiders and Slavers while selling the Ghouls Dirty Water in bottles of Aqua Cura.

If the player kills Griffon's guards in the basement, they can also loot the holotape from them.

[edit] Deal With Griffon

When the player returns to Griffon, you will have three options; blackmailing him, force him to come clean or force him to sell the real Aqua Pura. None of the three options will award the player with Karma.

[edit] Blackmailing Griffon

The player can blackmail Griffon for a one-off payment of 300 caps, or you can force him to pay you 40 caps each week. The player also has three Speech checks that can force him to pay either 100, 80 or 60 caps per week rather than 40.

[edit] Forcing Griffon To Confess

If the player forces Griffon to tell the truth, they will attack him. Eventually Griffon will run to the bathrooms and the entrance to the Museum. The mob will follow him there, where they will kill him.

[edit] Forcing Grffion To Sell Aqua Pura

If the player forces Griffon into selling the real Aqua Pura, he will tell the player to come back in a few days. He will tell you that his business with you is concluded and then try to tell the crowd that you are another satisfied customer.

Although Griffon will tell you to come back in a few days, his dialogue will remain the same, simply informing you his business with you is concluded, then try to pass you off as a happy customer to the crowd.

If the player added the Modified FEV to Project Purity during the Take it Back! quest, The Chop Shop within the Underworld will be full of sick Ghouls suffering from the effects of it. This will award the player negative Karma.
