Shorty is a member of Big Town that was taken captive by Super Mutants during a raid on the small town. He is encountered during the Big Trouble in Big Town quest. The Super Mutants brought him to the Germantown Police HQ and placed him in the basement. The Super Mutants plan to kill him then eat his remains. The player can either:

• Save Shorty by killing all the Super Mutants and escort him, along with Red back to Big Town.
• Kill Shorty, or allow him to be killed by Super Mutants
• Leave Shorty alone with the Super Mutants. The player can discover Shorty and leave him, or never enter the basement and find his location.

Shorty has been traumatized by the events he witnessed, including the torture and murder of his fellow captives, who's bodies can be found strewn all over the Polic HQ.

Upon returning to Big Town, he resumes his normal daily routine.
