(Redirected from Project V13)
Fallout Online (previously known as Project V13) is the title for an upcoming online multiplayer game with RPG elements that is being developed by Interplay and a new company, Masthead Studios. Several people involved in the creation of Fallout and Fallout 2 are working on this game, including Chris Taylor, one of the creators.
The game is nicknamed F.O.O.L (Fallout Online) and is going to be set in the Fallout universe. Chris has said that the map will be larger than other MMORPG's, because the team still wants to keep the "lone wanderer" feel to the game. The NPC's, Monsters, factions, and companions that are going to be appear in the game are unknown. Judging by the concept art, there will be new gear and weapons in the game.
 Gameplay, Engine, and Age Restriction
When members of this neowiki asked Chris Taylor what perspective it would be in, he simply replied "second person" as a joke. Either Interplay is saving the secret for the beta or there's still some time before it is perfected.
The game uses the same engine as "Earthrise", a game not by Interplay but by Mastehead Studios, and will likely get the rating of M or 17+. Not much is known about the gameplay or how it works but judging by the screen shots it isn't in an isometric view, but might still be turn-based.
 Legal Dispute
The game was put on hold because of a legal dispute between Bethesda Studios and Interplay, but the lawsuit was temporarily dropped, and it seemed like Project V13 was good to go. . Sadly Bethesda's Pete Hines said that it "is still ongoing and has not been resolved. It is a minor procedural thing that took place, not a dropping of the lawsuit". Hines added "the bottom line is it's an ongoing legal matter, it's in no way, shape or form done... We're going to let the process play out in the courts, which is what we've said all along, but beyond that I can't give specifics as to procedures That's not my domain." .
 Official Website
The Fallout-Online website has been launched and can be accessed here, and players have the option of signing up for newsletters and the beta, and a checklist will appear asking you your favorite game that Interplay made before you accept. When first going on the website a teaser is shown, and a very interesting carving on the table saying "the Master Lives" can be seen, a long with other fallout/fallout 2 references, including one of Harold.
Bethesda and Interplay are still in a legal dispute, but Bethesda seems to have backed off a little bit allowing Interplay to make this website.
 Beta and Newsletters
The closed beta for Fallout Online is expected to start sometime soon and people who have signed up will begin to get emails. Not all the people who have signed up for the closed beta will make, so it is assumed the Interplay will mail a type of "test" to see if you're qualified.
