The Wattz 2000 Laser Rifle appears in Fallout and Fallout 2 is weaker than the Fallout 3 laser rifle. However, they can be used better at longer range. They look similar to a Sniper Rifle, except there are tubes holding cells going in and out of the gun.

The AER9 Laser Rifle is the second most common Energy Weapon in Fallout 3, and is a good weapon for medium difficulty enemies, like Super Mutants and Super Mutant Brutes. It fires faster than a Hunting Rifle, and can be more powerful depending if you specialise in energy or small guns. The ammunition becomes less rare as the game goes on and can be a useful staple in one's inventory.
