Jonas is a human male living in Vault 101. He is a friend of the players father James, and also helps him rebuild a BB gun for the player as a gift during the players 10th birthday. After the players father escapes Vault 101, Jonas is tortured and killed during questioning by the Overseer.

In the 2260's, the Overseer decided that James needed an assistant to help with his medical research and appointed Jonas to do just that. He and James became friends and set work on assessing the health of the Vault and the upkeep of medical records. During their work together, James keeps secret his work with Project Purity. Jonas became suspicious and around 2274 uncovered James' secrets and decided to help with his research, despite the consequences if caught.

After James escapes the Vault, Officer Mack capture Jonas and begins to torture him on the Overseer's orders. He is then executed due to fear of him aiding in James' escape.
