Catherine was the wife of James and the mother to the Lone Wanderer in Fallout 3. She was one of the original scientists who worked on Project Purity before the setting of Fallout 3.
Catherine died on July 13, 2258 from a cardiac arrest, shortly after giving birth to the Lone Wanderer. This led to James abandoning Project Purity and seeking refuge in Vault 101 with his newborn child.
