Branchtender Cypress is a resident of Oasis. He reveals to the player that he used to be a traveller who would wander around the Capital Wasteland, somewhat like the player. Eventually he found the Oasis and decided to stay permanently, joining the cult and accepting their belief that Harold is a God.

During the Oasis Quest he will provide the player with the key that opens the gate, giving you access to the caves. Afterwards, he can be found patrolling around the gate.
