Bottle Caps are the main currency in the Capital Wasteland in Fallout 3. Bottle caps are just Nuka-Cola cap tops. Due to the fact Pre-War Money or American money was rare after the nuclear apocalypse of 2077, the wastelanders of Washington D.C. decided to use the abundant Nuka-Cola Cap as currency.

Drinking a Nuka-Cola will give you a bottle cap.
