 Quest Objectives
 Reaching The Brain
After the player tells Desmond that they are ready to go, you both will make your way to the Lighthouse. Alternatively, if you sided with Professor Calvert in the previous quest, Desmond will have already left for the Lighthouse. The player must make their way down to the "Underground Lab" within the Lighthouse. The player will encounter a number of turrets and Robobrains. The fighting will occasionally pause while the player looks for clearance badges to open the locked doors. If the players Science skill is high enough, they can hack the terminals to open the doors.
 Who To Kill?
Eventually you will make your way into a room with a large brain encased in glass. The brain is surrounded by inactive Protectrons. Desmond and Professor Calvert will have a short conversation, with both of them claiming to have the players support.
 Killing Calvert
If the player decides to side with Desmond, they will need to fire at the glass encasing the brain. The glass can take a number of shots, so a high damaging weapon is preferred. As the player opens fire on the brain, the Protectrons will begin to activate and attack the player and Desmond.
After the glass breaks, Professor Calvert will be defeated and any remaining Protectrons will deactivate. Desmond will be relieved that the feud is finally over that everything Calvert took from him is his. Desmond will thank you and give you a key to a nearby door. Inside this room the player can find ammo boxes, a safe, first aid kits, energy weapons and the Microwave Emitter. Inside the room the player will also find a ladder leading to the outside.
 Killing Desmond
Professor Calvert claims to reward you with the greatest thing that a human can wish for if you aid him in killing Desmond.
After killing Desmond, Calvert keeps his promise to reward you... with death! He will activate the nearby Protectrons and order them to attack you. The player must destroy the Protectrons and Calvert. Killing Calvert will disable the Protectrons.
The player will also find that a door has been unlocked. Inside this room the player can find ammo boxes, a safe, first aid kits, energy weapons and the Microwave Emitter. Inside the room the player will also find a ladder leading to the outside.
Either choice effectively completes the quest.
